Who We Are

SOFTEX is a knitwear OEM/ODM manufacturer based in Nanjing, China, and a member of Nanjing Codeal Corp., Ltd. (annual turnover is about USD100M), where we operate as the group's knitwear business unit. For more than 25 years we have specialized in knitted garments — sweaters, cardigans, scarves, hats, dresses and knit sets — for fashion brands in Europe and South America.

What We Do: From newborn to adult, ladies or men, our products reach all range of customers. From thin to heavy, we manage 1.5GG, 3GG, 5GG, 7GG, 12GG and 14GG.

Sustainability sits at the heart of our business. We are certified by the Cambridge Sustainability Leadership Programme, our partner factories are BSCI audited, we are ISO 9001 and GRS certified, and the yarns we buy are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tested.

Office — Nanjing

Unit 1706-1708, Tower 2, Nanjing Financial City, 242 Lushan Road, Nanjing. Sales, sourcing, merchandising and quality control all run from here.

8 knitting factories

Eight BSCI-audited partner factories across eastern and northern China, each working exclusively on knitted garments.

Team on the ground

Our own Nanjing quality team travels to the factories and supervises production on site. Two additional QC inspectors are stationed at the factories, checking production day to day.

Europe & South America

Our London team follows the high street week by week; our sales team handles buyers across Europe and South America, including Chile.

Milestones

Five steps from hand flat machines to AI-assisted measurement.

2026

Into AI-assisted production

Now developing AI-assisted tools inside our own workflow, starting with automated measurement of finished pieces.

2025

New office

Moved into a new office in Nanjing Financial City, expanding our design and merchandising capability.

2010

Computerized knitting

Computerized flat knitting machines entered our production base. One operator could now run five to eight machines, and patterns moved from mechanical setup to machine files.

2005

Electric drive

Hand-pulling gave way to motorized flat machines. Output per machine rose, but each machine still needed its own operator.

2001

Hand flat machines

Our business began on hand-driven flat machines: one operator, one machine, one garment at a time.
